The "Creation" story as told by a child. [Using familiar Earth terms]

In the beginning, our world was a hot fiery chunk of rock, though it was very large,in orbit around oursun. As millions of years went by it cooled off and finally the water condensed out of the air and made the great seas and oceans. The air wasn't good to breathe, 'cause it was made of poison gases. As more time passed the poison gases condensed too, and joined the water in the oceans, seas and lakes. As more of these gases joined the others, there were many different chemical reactions. Some of those made very simple organic chemicals.

The air was alive with fire, volcanos were going off, and there was lightning and rain. The days were dark with the smoke of the volcanos. Lots of carbon was falling on the bodies of water, and the lightning was making new chemicals in the air and in the water. These chemicals helped make new organic things in the water, some even got very complex. These were the beginnings of life on our world.

Still more millions of years went by, and the life in our oceans became more and more complex until some of it was trying to live on dry land. Most of those didn't do so well, but some did. They started to become more and more complex. By this time our planet had cooled off a lot! And these creatures that were trying to live on the land had to do something to stay warm. So, the ones that continued to live developed warm blood, and then fur (especially the ones that wanted to live nearer the snow). As more time went by, some got real large, and they all changed into different kinds of animals.

In the early days of mammalian life on a planet called "Ta-Mal", some 235 million years ago, a group of mammals (essentially Canid in nature) began to develop increased intelligence. Over the next several hundred thousand years they came to walk up-right and to take on "Humanoid" characteristics. While they still roamed in 'packs' or 'family/clan' units and adhered to territorial limits, they began to interact with other units. Little is known of these people, except that derived from 'genetic memory', and the fossil record on what is now a 'dead planet'.

The recorded history of our people starts somewhere around 180 million years ago, when the first of our 'packs' started to join with others to improve hunting and protection of the young. It was at this point that language started to become standardized' and a form of written language was developed. These early people were little more than a highly intelligent 'Wolf' that walked upright, many of the characteristics of the Wolf were still present; fur, long teeth, pointed ears, tail (though shortened), etc. As they began to combine territories, and 'den' sites, the concept of communities developed, and from that early towns and cities. Along with this the requirement of 'record keeping' came to light; the necessity of keeping straight who's cub was who's, who needed essential requirements (food, housing, tools, etc.). Our earliest form of writing was claw scratches on soft rock or clay tablets.

These early forms of civilization continued and evolved over the next 300,000 years. With the increase in population and continued evolution of our people the first 'empire' was born. The first recognized leader or war-lord rose to power in the year 1 (this is so said because it was the first 'real' organization of my species of Andromedan people - A.A.). Though, there were many other large centers of civilization, He was the first to implement true social change; the advent of social programs to aid families under his domain, and to organize 'formal' defense of this domain. He was also the first to engage in expansion of his domain and to incorporate new/other settlements into this domain through conquest. The 'right' of leadership was passed through family lines (much like the early days of Earth). This first dynasty lasted for well over 1000 years.

[Notes: year one was 1.5 million years ago...about 60 million years ago for Earth.]

As this first dynasty began to break down there was a period, lasting some 3000 years, that is generally considered our first 'dark age'; a period of social chaos. This was followed by a somewhat longer period of 'darkness' of which there is little record. What is known is that there were many small 'states' which were at war most of the time. Some conquered, only to revolt within a few hundred to a few thousand years. There seems to have been little evolution in the social aspects of our people for a period lasting some 8000 years.

In the year 12,000 (or so), a leader appeared that was to make a significant mark on history, and to begin our ascent into greatness. He was the first to organize some sort of 'spiritual' concept that could be accepted by the masses and to form a government that could also be accepted. Based, on the ideas of the first 'war-lord', he organized a common body for defence, and started some sort of organized social development. The armies, over the next 4000 years, conquered and annexed an entire hemisphere of our 'birth' world. Though not without trouble; in the sixth hundred year of this second dynasty, movement was being made into the southern district of the hemisphere. Here another great dynasty was evolving. These people were of greater strength and spirituality, though of lesser numbers. There were many battles fought over this territory, and if it were not for the superior tactical and strategic skills of our Northern ancestors, these battles may not have been won. In the year 15,348 this southern dynasty finally submitted and the entire hemisphere came under one rule. Again the leadership of the people was passed through family lines.

As our civilization and society grew and evolved, so did our technology. Though it was to be yet another 5000 years before there were any major "breakthroughs" in our technology.

[Year: 21,000] It was at this time that many small parts were put together and resulted in our ability to venture forth from our half of the planet. The skills, and tools of our star watchers and boat builders were combined with those of our best hunters and warriors which resulted in the ability to travel forth across the great oceans to other lands. Though, there is some record that indicates that some of the ideas to combine these tools and technologies may have come from those very other lands. There seems to be some indication that explorers from the other hemisphere landed here before we got the idea to explore 'the other side'.

It is known that our first explorers did encounter great ships that 'were not ours', though their origin was at first unknown. As we discovered these 'new lands' and the people and civilization there we began to trade with them, and to settle there. These people were not of the same species as us (though some were), this lead to problems in the coming years. Somewhere around the year 23,000, a great conflict arose between these two great states that resulted in the destruction of both civilizations.

[note: at this point my people don't seem to have had much more than 18 century Humans has as far as technology goes. - A.A.]

It was to be a long climb out of the resulting "dark age" for both peoples, something on the order of 3 to 4,000 years. When our people finally did regain the technology to sail the great oceans we were in our fourth great dynasty.

[Note: the third dynasty rose and fell; it left little knowledge as to why. - A.A.]

[27700] In the 700 year of this fourth dynasty, the mystics and renegade theologians started our fledgling sciences. We gained the ability to know where we were located on our planet (from the stars...note: perhaps regained - A.A.). We again sailed the great oceans and encountered our neighbors across the seas. Again we traded with them, though this time in peace for yet another 5000 years. In the year 33,000 the great race wars erupted, though by this time both sides had developed much more sophisticated technologies (Flight, Electronic, and Nuclear). These wars were to prove to be much more devastating on both sides and any previous war had. These wars were confined to the air and oceans for quite some time, but around the year 33,250 someone had the inane idea to use our nuclear technology as a weapon. We developed and launched a large missile with such a weapon. This caused the war to 'cool off' for about another 1000 years [1000 year "cold war"], during this time the others [they were apes] copied and developed their own nuclear weapons and also developed space born technologies which were on a par with our own.

This lead to an escalation of the war and fighting in earnest began again. This was rather short lived however, since both sides had such horrible devices that both were almost entirely wiped out. This resulted in our third "dark age".

[33350] As we entered our third dark age, we did have the advantage of a firmly seated hierarchy of government, though it was barely able to hang on to power. There was the added advantage of bits and pieces of technology, though it was several hundred years before this was used to any great extent. During this time our spirituality grew and developed into a technology of its own. And at the end of some 2500 years, we were in a position to strike out on our own again.

Again we crossed the great seas. Again we meet our old enemies, but this time, aided with the lessons of history we combined our strengths and began to prosper. With our combined resources we began to explore and conquer space. Even to colonize our nearby planets. Our two great dynasties lasted for some 10,000 years before there was a great illness that ravaged our Ape friends. Scientists of both great races were stumped, and the Apes were nearly extinct before one of their people found the cause and cure. For some 300 years we both did everything that could be thought of to rid the Apes of this scourge. The result was that their society was entirely destroyed, and the planet and our colonies came under one rule. This is considered to be the beginning of the fifth great dynasty. With the few Apes left and the knowledge we both had gained in genetics, we began to rebuild their race. This project is generally considered successful by us both.

[45000] We both had spent many hundred years dealing with this re- building, with out-breaks of the killer disease [a virus imported from space], and with many other troubles, but with our combined strengths and knowledge we were victorious.

Somewhere around the year 45,000 we entered our great era of space exploration. Though this too was to prove as difficult as that of our own planet. We were to encounter peoples of other stars that were either more "war like" that we or had superior technology. Though, they proved to be less tenacious than we.

By the year 46,000 we had been nearly everywhere in our own solar system that we could (some planets were too hostile even with our technology), and we began to send explorers to nearby stars. But with our old 'reaction' based space technology this would take much time (the nearest star was some 100 years away). We began sending family units which could complete the mission through their off-spring. Some of these 'returning' children were to become our greatest scientists. Within just a few hundred (400) years we had begun to learn of faster than light travel. This lead to the development of a Tachyon based flight system, which could propel us to our nearest star in only a few hours instead of a hundred years. This also led to the sending of colonies to this star.

On the home front, we were having problems with the ecology. Our lack of fore sight had lead us to the brink of disaster for our planet. The air not fit to breathe the water not fit to drink, the land not fit to walk upon. Fortunately the lessons we learned on our home planet were of much value to our colonies. And through, a partial exodus we were able to repair the damage done, though it took 2500 years to complete.

By the year 47,000 we had colonies established in our neighboring star system, and were on good terms with the people native there. [A small reptile like people] We were also beginning to send out explorers again to other near-by star systems, though by this time, our idea of near-by was a flight of a year or so [actually much farther than at first]. In these early explorations we began to encounter other 'space borne' peoples, some friendly others not.

We had begun to establish 'out-posts' in our nearby space and in the year 47,500 (or so) a group of these out-posts was attacked by a race that had greater technology. It is written that 'they came out of nowhere', remember, by this time we had Tachyon based technology and could detect incoming spacecraft some scores of light years away. These 'invaders' seemed to appear from nowhere, and to return to the same place. At first, all we could do is send armed starships to attempt to protect our people. This didn't work well and we were eventually driven back. The invaders didn't stop, though, and succeeded in destroying several races of people that we had become friends with. These were the first of the great space wars. By the year 48,500 we had been driven back to our home planet, and all of our colonies destroyed. Those planets where we had established peaceful relations with the native peoples were either destroyed or conquered; we could find no weakness in the invaders. After another 250 years we were forced to submit to these invaders. Our people were taken as slaves, our government replaced by their people and we were driven to the brink of despair. Thus began our fourth dark age.

[48,750 - 75,000] We remained in oppression and despair for the next 26,000 years. Our ruling family had gone 'under-ground' to escape the 'hunts' for them. Our 'first family' also kept alive the spark for freedom, and around the year 75,000 began to lead the first successful attempts at driving out our oppressors. The battles and skirmishes lasted another 1000 years, but we were eventually successful in driving them from our planet. Our ruling family again took their place at the head of government, and we lead a life in fear of these invading peoples. For the next 20,000 years we were careful not to venture off our home planet. Though we still had our interstellar technologies, we did not use them, even to travel to our own nearby planets.

[95,000] In the year 95,000, a new emperor took his place. This man was to be the first who would not accept the fear that our people lived in. He set about finding technologies that would allow us to expand consciousness and domain. He also wanted to know how these invaders had surprised our ancestors. The answers were not easy to find, and it did take several thousand more years before we dared venture forth and establish colonies on the nearby planets. But, find the answers we did. By the year 100,000 we had developed our tachyon based technology into a fine art. We had developed weapons of great firepower, and ships that could carry them. We ventured forth to our nearest planet. There we found the invaders', still bent on oppressing us. They too, had improved their technology, and the second great space war was joined. We built space stations to defend our planet, armed with our best technology. They sent wave after wave of heavily armed 'battle cruisers' against us. We fought over our own solar system for the next 2500 years. There seemed to be little we could do against them, but we did manage to keep them from defeating us.

Toward the end of this 2500 year period, one of our science groups happened on the basis of the invaders technology. They were based in scalar magnetics, this allowed them to use what has become known as 'hyper-space'; as a mode of travel, no faster than our own Tachyon based systems, but it made them un-detectable to us until they 'dropped' to normal space. By using a system of scalar reflected Tachyons we learned to detect their presence, and to know when they were coming. Our weapons were still useless against them until they were in normal space, but we were able to learn from where they came, and thus to take the war to them.

With our new capabilities we quickly regained our old colonies. We then set about using the resources there to build our first fleet of true war machines. We had driven them from our solar system and had erected a series of battle stations that would keep them at bay. Though, even this would prove a temporary measure. We worked at a pace that was quick for us, to build our defenses, and take the war to them. They would send great fleets against us and 'pound' at a single point until it failed. With what was left of their fleet they would enter our solar system and 'hit' our construction facilities. We would drive them back, only to have a seemingly endless cycle restart. For 5000 years we fought these people, then they started to slow down, then stop. We wondered what had happened; did they give up on us? Did they get defeated by yet another race of people with greater technology? There were no answers.

Cautiously, we ventured out to our nearest neighboring star, there we found that not all of our people had been destroyed, not had all the natives. In fact the natives were doing quite well, and they had helped our people over the thousands of years.

At first we were meet with hostility, but when they found out who had arrived the greeting quickly changed to one of friendship, and welcome. We helped them to rebuild their planets, and society. We learned that the same invaders had used their worlds as supply depots and had left as suddenly as they had stopped their war with us. They hadn't left much behind, but what was there, was being worked on by both the native 'lizard' people and our own as well. We learned that the main defence they had used against our weapons was to send our particle and Tachyon beams into hyper-space, thus rendering them harmless.

[105,000 - 150,000] The next 50,000 years were spent in cautious exploration. We had converted our battle cruisers into ships of exploration, but had left them armed. We would establish relations with our old friends, and help them to gain the technology to defend them. We established many of our old 'out-posts' but they too were armed with the best our technology could provide. Slowly we began to expand. A 'federation' of the civilizations who were friendly to us was established, to provide for the common defense. Trade between these worlds flourished, and we all lived a peaceful, though, cautious life. Our “Federation” became quite a mix of peoples; Wolves, Apes, Reptiles, Birds, Cats. From over 100 different solar systems, came the people of this first great Andromeda Federation. With our combined resources we began to expand again, and by the year 175,000 we were again on the edge of known space.

[200,000] By the year 200,000 we again hit the proverbial 'brick wall'. A race of people who were essentially insect in nature, were opposing us. They did not seem interested in our small corner of the galaxy, but they were bent on keeping us from expanding into theirs. For hundreds of years we skirted around what was inevitable; war. In 200,645 the first 'shot' was fired. The third great space war started. For yet another 15,000 years we fought to defend ourselves. We had no interest in conquest, but these Insects would not accept this fact. Finally, in the year 216,000 (or so) a truce was made, treaties signed, and peace was made.

On our other frontiers, there was also trouble, but not to the extent that we had with the Insects. This lead to the rise of the sixth great dynasty. In the year 217,000, it was agreed by all who we had relations with, that our sector of space would be better ruled by a single people who had the best interests in mind. A great election was held, it took decades to accomplish, and in the end it was our people who had won. The main reason being, that we were the most experienced in defending our sector. For the next 300,000 years we were at peace, joyfully exploring space with our brothers. While this time was not all peace; there were planets and whole peoples who would revolt, not liking the style of leadership. Peoples would leave; others join our federation, still others who would return. This time was generally prosperous for everyone.

[517,000...this marks the transition from ancient history to middle history] The fourth great space war. A time of strife for the federation began in about 517,000. We had expanded to the edge of the galaxy and indeed in all directions. However, in our 'inward' expansion (toward the center of the galaxy) we encountered yet more trouble; trouble in the form of the demise of our 'invaders' of long ago. A race more bent on conquest and destruction than even those invaders of old, and with a technology that was as foreign to us as it had been to the our old enemy. Oh yes, we encountered them (the invaders) too, reduced to a single planet as we had been. But, they were ready for any help they could get.

This new threat was a race of Apes, who had found a technology that was neither Tachyon, nor scalar magnetics. These people had also built a great federation; one of people who were like themselves - blood thirsty and conquest hungry. We managed to save our old invaders; who proved to be something like ourselves...Canid. But, eventually the technology and resources of this new threat proved more than our federation could handle. After only 3500 years of war, they conquered us. This meant our whole sector of space would fall under their rule, but with our ability to defend gone, there was little resistance and thus little life lost.

[770000] For 250,000 years we were under the rule of what became the greatest 'empire' of its time in our galaxy; an empire of strife and oppression. They cared not of our spiritual ways, indeed they cared not of things spiritual, nor of honor. They simply wished to rule, and under an iron fist. They tried to squash anything that seemed a threat to their rule, which included whole societies, though they would preserve the people; as slaves. For 250,000 years the 'empire' became more integrated, this proved their downfall. They eventually allow us to learn in their schools, to learn of their technology. Though, it wasn't until one brave wolf sacrificed his life did we gain the ability to use this technology.

One day, on a planet far from our origin, one of their ships crashed. Whether through some malfunction or whatever it was never learned. The pilot was ejected, and his ship broken. A group of mixed people were removing the pilots armor when an 'original' Wolf crawled into the wrecked ship and pulled hard on what was considered 'the essential' component. As the ship self-destructed, and the Wolf thrown through the air to his death, the component was saved. Our people, being the most subversive and advanced race obtained this part and analyzed it. It proved to be the breaking point in the oppression. Their technology, it was learned, was one based on a transition of the various levels of existence; a sort of mechanical magick. Once this was known, our (and others) mystics and magicians could define some sort of defense and offence against the oppressors.

While we had no real desire to see them extinct, their desire for dominance left few options. True there were many, who by now had no desire for the kind of tyranny that their leaders had, we still had few options. Lead by our old 'ruling family' (who by now had been forgotten by all but us) we secretly developed a battle fleet from some ancient ships that had been kept hidden these many thousands of years. In only a few hundred years we had assembled a fleet of nearly 75 ships; 75 ships to fight thousands.

Armed with both hyper-space and Tachyon technologies, along with the technologies of our oppressors our fleet struck deep at the heart of the empire. This was a short lived war, in terms of the oppression that preceded it; it only lasted 50,000 years.

[820,000] By the year 820,000 we had finally crippled the oppressing empire; Which by now was slightly more than half the galaxy. Their leaders captured, only to be freed and re- captured. By the time the war was finally over, and peace restored, most of their race was gone, along with several others. The leaders were put on trial, and then destroyed. Honor was restored to our half of the galaxy.

Sometime around the year 850,000 our seventh great dynasty rose to power. Prompted by most of the peoples of our half of the galaxy, our ruling family took part in an election, and was un-opposed. [This marks the transition to modern history.]

At about this same time, our 'new' federation was contacted by two groups. One, the majority rulers of the other half of our Andromedan Galaxy, the other a group that represented some of the surrounding galaxies. The group from the 'greater' federation (surrounding Galaxies) commended us on our tenacity and skill in battle, and also on our 'drive' for freedom (not just for ourselves, but for all). The group from the other side of the galaxy desired to enter in peaceful relations with us, which we did without a second thought.

A kind of wholesome peace came over the entire galaxy, which has lasted to this day. Though, our seventh dynasty has not lasted; for now we are in our eighth great dynasty. One which was formed in peace, and had the strength of an entire galaxy, not a single race is hostile or opposed to the whole (though there is always some trouble in an area so large).

In the year 1,000,000 all races combined into a single 'great empire' which has lasted these last 500,000 years, and under the leadership of our own Wolfen ruling family.

Our people, for we consider ourselves a single people now, have developed intergalactic travel, and established trade routes between the seven friendly and local galaxies. Though, this too has not been without trouble. In modern times there have been long space wars (the sixth and seventh. The fifth being the freeing of our half of the galaxy). These have been fought against other galaxies, and both have come to the same result, treaties and peace. Friendly relations, and open travel and trade.

Though not all galaxies have been through the troubles of ours, most are on very good terms with our people. We have even helped to defend freedom in our neighboring galaxies.
